It was great to watch my favourites, they didn't let me down,
It's nice to go to Burnden when I visit my old town.
I know I've watched my share of games, enjoyed them all so much,
With all the modern techniques, well I like to keep in touch.
Football must be in my blood, at times it drives me mad,
And I have been like this I know since I was just a lad.
Bolton played a Cup Game once, they had to close the ground,
The place was absolutely full, not one seat to be found.
Well that's not true, I'm telling lies, there was one seat to spare,
It does show how the Bolton folk are crazy over there.
A man sat in his reserved seat, he lived quite close to town,
He did get so excited, he kept jumping up and down.
The chap behind leaned over and he began to quiz,
"A lady always sits by your side, I wonder where she is?"
The man said, " Yes that was my wife, I'm very sad to say,
The funeral will be leaving now, they bury her today !" Harold Small, Guelph, Ontario, Canada
