A SMALL branch library is set to close.
Council chiefs plan to shut the New Bury library at Farnworth and change the opening hours of Brazley library at Horwich.
The decision follows a survey of Bolton's library users.
Mrs Kathleen Ryan, chief librarian, said the best used libraries were Bolton Central along with the main branch libraries at Farnworth, Harwood, Horwich, Little Lever and Westhoughton.
She said: "We are not making cuts in the service, we are re-directing resources to the areas the public wants."
There will be a small library service offered at the New Bury Community Centre. The Brazley library will change its opening hours to cater for times when children are off school.
