The Shakers boss has had to put any potential moves into the transfer market on hold until he learns how much he is going to have to pay for goalkeeper Dean Kiely.
With one transfer tribunal ending in chaos when the contingent from selling club York City walked out and a scheduled second hearing postponed, the frustration has grown for a manager who will not settle until he has improved the quality of his squad.
A little light appeared at the end of the tunnel this week with the news that a date is likely to be set within the next few days.
The Football League's board of directors are investigating York's protests over the 'procedures' of the tribunal but are expected to rule that a hearing will go ahead with the likely date early next month.
Ternent says: "We are a long way from being the finished article and I would like to strengthen certain areas. But until I found out how much we have to pay for Dean, I can't do anything." For the club is bringing out a new quarterly video to capture all the goals and excitement as they bid to achieve a second successive promotion.
And as the supporters continue to put their heroes' efforts under scrutiny, they will get a clearer view thanks to new latest technology camara equipment the club has purchased for the experienced camara crew who travel the length and breadth of the country supporting the Shakers from behind the lens and microphone.
