THE Bents Garden Centre at Glazebury is to open an £850,000 extension on Wednesday, November 13. Ron Bent and his son Mathew will perform a ribbon-cutting ceremony with garden shears. They will represent the three generations which have developed the business from a small rose nursery founded in 1938 by Ron's parents, Alfred and Margaret Bent. Ron Bent says a second expansion phase is being considered at the centre, which employs more than 100 full and part-time staff.
