BOLTON bus drivers put a young girl on the right road to win national recognition for her fundraising efforts.
Five-year-old Elisha Butterworth of Weavers Green, Farnworth swam 50 metres as part of a fundraising event at Woodside special school.
Grandad Tony Butterworth was so proud of Elisha, who has learning difficulties and suffers from epilepsy, that he asked his workmates at the Crook Street bus depot to sponsor her.
The drivers raised a massive £400 for the Great British Swim organised by the National Asthma Campaign.
Elisha got an extra £30 sponsorship and went on to win an Asthma Achievement Award for being the second best individual fundraiser in the campaign.
She was presented with her award by stars of children's TV at a special party for young people who raised the most money for the campaign.
