FRANCES Lawrence is determined that something positive is going to come from the murder of her headmaster husband, Philip.
She has launched a moral crusade and wants the grass-roots movement to banish violence and promote good citizenship. In the eight-point Lawrence Manifesto she calls for the sale of combat knives to be banned and for less violence in the media.
Out of the terrible violence that pierced the heart of her family, Frances Lawrence hopes a new ethos may be constructed in which neglected virtues are reinstated, cherished and sustained.
We applaud and support her initiative as will the very many people who are sick of senseless violence which is often aimed at the most vulnerable among us.
