SIR: I disagree with Mr I Fox, letter BEN Monday October 14, that there should be selected parks for either people with children, or people with dogs. What happens to the many people I meet who have both children and dogs? Do they send the dog one way, and the children another?
I walk my dog around the Jumbles Country Park and Longsight Park, Harwood, where families with children, and dog owners mix happily. The only obvious answer is, for every dog owner to take a plastic bag and remove anything the dog leaves behind. Responsible owners do this. At least the dog is only doing what comes naturally - watch the children being allowed to throw away their litter. Last week my dog cut her foot badly on a foil dish which had been torn in half and left.
