NEW Lane went two points clear at the top of the Horwich Sunday League first division when they made it eight wins out of eight, starts with a close 3-2 home win against Vicardrome.
On target for New Lane were Phil Hutchinson (2) and O'Neil. This now leaves New Lane as the team they all have to catch at the top.
Barnstormers moved up into mid-table after defeating Red Lion 2-1 at home thanks to two goals from Slater. Postal and Sams X1 shared the points in a 1-1 draw and Miller Fold won 4-1 at home to next to bottom club Arkwright Academicals.
In the Premier Division the goal scoring feat of the day goes to Danny Hall who scored six of Jolly Miller's tally in the 9-0 rout at home to New Inn. Lee Harrison (2) and A Taylor scored the others. Arkwrights moved into second spot after a fine away victory over Solarite Grey Mare 3-0 with a goal each from P Critchley, T Tobin and substitute P Davies. Cheetham Arms and leaders Carters Arms drew 4-4.
