TALENTED musician Natalie Clein will play Elgar's Cello Concerto, when she appears in concert with Bolton Symphony Orchestra at The Great Hall, Boys' Division, Bolton School, on November 24.
Natalie studied at the Royal College of music, where she was awarded the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Scholarship. In June, 1994, she was the first British winner of the Eurovision Competition for Young Musicians in Warsaw and appeared in the Channel 4 television film Elgar's Tenth Muse.
She has performed as soloist with a number of orchestras, including the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, London Mozart Players, Wren Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
Natalie has given recitals in different parts of Britain including the Wigmore Hall, London, performed with chamber ensembles including the Schubert Quintet with the Allegri Quartet and appeared in the Divonne Festival, France, playing the Brahms Op 8 trio with Maxim Vengerov and Itamar Golan.
The orchestra, conducted by Paul Payton, will be performing a programme of Scottish music, including Overture - The Land of the Mountain and the Flood, McCunn and Orkney Wedding with Sunrise, Maxwell Davies under the title A Highland Fling. There will be a pre-concert talk on Burns' bi-centenary at 2 pm and the concert, sponsored by turnerparkinson, solicitors starts at 3 pm.
