THREE Bolton Combination games had to be postponed last weekend under tragic circumstances.
Nineteen-year-old Hindsford player Craig Guest died in hospital on Saturday morning after an accident on the Wednesday.
The highly-rated young Inter League starlet was fatally injured in Manchester city centre when he and some friends were rushing to catch a train to be in time to watch the football on television.
Both Hindsford's games were called off as a mark of respect.
The Seedfield Sports Club against Bolton Lads Club fixture was also called off after a bereavement in the family of the Lads Club manager.
Of the Premier Division games that were played, three goals in three minutes gave British Aerospace the vital edge to go on to a 4-3 triumph over Atherton C&N.
Kirkman opened the scoring five minutes before half time for Aero, but it was goals from Sutton (50), Forrest (51) and Smiley (52) that really did the damage.
Jimmy Smith had given the visitors the lead on the half hour and Peter Jackson hit two on 55 and 83 minutes in a late rally that just fell agonisingly short of the mark.
Goals in each half from Lomax and Small earned Kersal Lads Club a second league win of the season by a 2-0 margin over a struggling Blackrod Town side that has yet to taste anything but defeat in eight outings.
John Farrar got an 80th minute equaliser for his Summerseat side after David Clayton had given the visitors, AFC Walkers, the lead on the hour. The draw maintains Walkers' eight-game unbeaten run since the start of the season.
Walkden AFC and Hindley Green drew 3-3 at Harriet Street, Ian Cooke (10), Jimmy Scoular (20), and Simon Meadows (57) got the visitors goals but Walkden came back from 2-1 and 3-1 down to earn a well deserved share of the spoils.
In Division One, five first half goals from Adlington Athletic put paid to Tyldesley United in a 5-2 scoreline.
Wood hit a hat-trick in Mitchell Shackleton's 5-1 away win at Atherton C&N Reserves and Little Lever won 3-0 at Kersal Vale with strikes from Adamson, Whittaker and Marr. The victors from these three games now share a joint lead at the top of the table with 17 points apiece, all from eight games played.
Neil Jenkins was another hat-trick hero as Hindley Green Reserves hit visitors Tottington United for six with no reply, which maintained his side's unbeaten record. The other side yet to taste defeat in this division, Turton, just won out in a 5-4 home thriller with Monton Amateurs.
British Aerospace Reserves were far and away the day's top scorers in an emphatic 11-2 win at Tyldesley United Reserves. Morris led the way with five goals.
