FLORAL art fans are in for a treat next month, when international arranger Barry Grey comes to Bolton. Well-known already in this country, Barry has made so many visits to Spanish flower clubs that one of them - the Marina Alta Flower Club on the Costa Blanca - has made him an honorary member!

He has been a member of flower clubs since his early 20s and has been in the world of flowers for almost 30 years.

He is a past chairman of Glossop Flower Club and Romiley Floral Art Guild. He is a past vice-chairman of the Cheshire area of NAFAS, for which he has also held a variety of posts.

Barry has designed at least six church flower festivals and has his own school based in Blackpool, where he teaches flower arranging and design with plant material.

He is also a qualified florist, but has earned thousands of fans around the country with his demonstrations.

He will be in Bolton on Monday, November 18, at the Bolton School Boys' Division Great Hall for a Christmas flower arranging demonstration entitled "From Afar Herald Beckons."

The event has been organised by the Bolton branch of CHAT - the Children's Hospitals' Appeal, which is raising £80,000 to equip Bolton's ambulances with special junior emergency equipment. Timing is 7pm for 7.45pm, with tickets available if you ring Bolton 693145 for details.
