SIR: Cllr Evans' letter is political clap trap and I will answer it three ways.
Firstly, if my child is academically above average, no one has the right to deny him the choice of sending him to any school I wish. If I am willing to make sacrifices in order to give my child a better education, no one has the right, for whatever reason, to say that I cannot.
Secondly, my salary and my conditions of employment concern me and my MD and no one else. I will not tolerate interference from anyone when it comes to my living. Not the local council, Westminster, Brussels or anywhere else.
Thirdly, although I am not well off, not having a car, holidays abroad or any other status symbol, I do not want patronising by people like Cllr Evans who seems to believe that they have a God given right to insult anyone who does not believe in what they do.
Mr D Herdson, Ainsworth Road, Radcliffe
