A BOLTON teacher will be putting the region's top students through their paces as new recruitment officer for army training.
John Tustin, head of physics at Hayward School, takes up a new position in charge of the Manchester and Salford Universities Officers' Training Corps this month.
John, a lieutenant colonel in the Duke of Lancaster's Own Yeomanry, will be monitoring close links between the army and universities including Bolton Institute of Higher Education.
He will continue to teach at Hayward School.
