A LAST-GASP equaliser from former Stoneclough player Simon O'Brien earned ATHERTON LR a share of the points in a thrilling 2-2 draw at Netherfield.
Manager Dave Morris made sure his side took to the field with attack in mind by playing a three-pronged strike force in Steve Gavin, Lee Cryer and Gavin McDonald.
The Lakesiders scored goals through Finlay and Jenkinson but a Mark Stewart strike gave LR hope. McDonald, restored to the starting line-up, said: "We played well and a draw was no more than we deserved. Simon scored with virtually the last kick of the game but to lose would have been an injustice"
ATHERTON COLLS went down to a 3-0 defeat against a Newcastle Town side that has yet to taste defeat in either Cup or League this season.
Colls certainly made Potteries hearts flutter a little in the first half but unfortunately got over-run in the second. The side that has made it through to the First Round Proper of the FA Cup took all three points through two goals from John Burndred and a penalty from Neil Pestridge.
