BOLTON town centre pub Maxims has received top recognition in this year's 1997 Good Beer Guide.
The Bradshawgate pub has been given a top accolade for serving first class ale.
Licensees Debra and Jim Bollard, who have run the Bolton pub for three years, received the commendation following a series of mystery visits by the Campaign for Real Ale group.
They won top praise for their cask beers and Jim, aged 41, said: "I'm over the moon that Maxims has been recognised by Camra. There aren't many pubs in Bolton town centre included in the Good Beer Guide."
