A SHOCKED motorist escaped serious injury by inches after a brick crashed onto the roof of his car yesterday.
The man was driving along St Peter's Way towards Bolton when the missile dropped from a road bridge onto his car, shattering his sun roof. A split second earlier it would have crashed through his windscreen.
The motorist reported seeing a gang of youths on the bridge just before the incident happened. But when police arrived they could not find them. The driver did not need hospital treatment.
