COUNCIL chiefs are facing a lollipop patrol crisis outside Bolton's schools.
They cannot to find enough recruits to take on the jobs.
Road safety chiefs have pledged to make their top priority a school where mums have become emergency lollipop ladies.
They have blocked the road outside St Simon and St Jude's School, Newport Road to allow their children to cross.
But Cllr Jack Foster, chairman of Bolton's planning and environment committee, said at last night's Bolton Council meeting, they are struggling to fill posts.
"I understand, four people are being interviewed this week, but four have resigned."
But he said that there was "certainly no intention" to end this post where more than 70 children a day cross the road.
