BOLTON Institute's Technology Transfer Centre is taking its message on tour.
The centre helps north of England manufacturing firms obtain cash grants to update their products and processes.
A series of meetings for manufacturers is being arranged in conjunction with business organisations in the North and North-west to spread the world.
The latest one-hour meeting - organised in conjunction with Business Link Manchester - was at Trafford Park Business Centre on Wednesday.
Similar events are arranged at Batley and Preston.
"We seek out companies in their own areas," said Richard Fairbank, Head of the Institute's Technology Development Unit.
The unit administers two important grant schemes for small and medium-sized manufacturers in the north who are looking to modernise their products or production by the incorporation of electronic components.
"We have already helped firms in our region obtain more than £1.5 million in grants and there is more money where that came from," Mr Fairbank said.
The Unit's number is 01204 528851.
