ORDNANCE Survey has launched its latest product - Superplan Data.
Demonstrations of the computerised mapping system were given to local architects, engineers, construction industry professionals, estate managers and estate agents at Lancashire Cricket Club.
A spokesman said Superplan Data was "site-centred large-scale mapping on floppy disk for use in CAD systems."
It is about to be available on demand through a network of 30 Superplan Agents, including one in Manchester.
The whole of Britain is mapped by Ordnance Survey and the information is held on a central computer database at its Southampton headquarters.
New information supplied by a team of 600 field-surveying staff across the country is added daily.
The latest mapping of anywhere in the country can be displayed on a screen at the Superplan shops which are linked to the national database.
Customers define their requirements for the data, which has a minimum price of £75 plus VAT.
Product Manager Rachel Brown said: "Superplan Data is ideal for site maps, project planning and design, feasibility studies, planning applications and for illustrating presentations and reports."
