A PARADISE island became the perfect setting for a Bolton couple to make babies - under the watchful eye of TV celebrity Gaby Roslin.
The busy pair decided to escape from it all and try to start a family in the Maldives...watched by millions of eager fans of The Real Holiday Show!
Karl and Rayanne Dubkov planned the once-in-a-lifetime trip after Rayanne, who answers 999 calls for the Greater Manchester Fire Service, became broody.
"We constantly miss each other with our busy lives," said Karl, who owns and runs his own security company.
"The holiday was an ideal opportunity to start a family."
The idea was so novel, that producers of the hit Channel Four series contacted the couple at their Woodend Farm home.
Workaholic Karl, who has just completed a massive refurbishment of their ancient Lord Hulton house off Newbrook Road, said: "They would ring us up every day and talk to us. They wanted a real picture of our marriage of what we were like. We were very flattered.
"Eventually, they agreed to film us. We thought it would be a real laugh." Unfortunately the couple, married for two years, have not yet managed to conceive.
"I wouldn't say the holiday was a failure. It was a beautiful place. But we are still waiting for the pitter patter of little feet," Karl said.
The episode, which goes out at 8.30pm on Monday November 11, will give a birdseye view of the Maldives, Karl and Rayanne - warts and all.
Karl said: "I think everyone agreed that the Maldives was a perfect holiday setting. I think the producers thought I was a male chauvinist pig - and they'd be right. I always let my wife butter my bread rolls and I never lift a finger with housework. Although, I do spoil her rotten and I did pay for the holiday.
"I think they are going to paint a fairly black picture of me."
