A MAN found hanged from an electricity pylon near a motorway has been identified as a 27- year-old Farnworth father.
Lee George Wilson, of Masefield Drive, New Bury, Farnworth, was spotted by a motorist on Wednesday on the M61 near Cleggs Lane.
His devastated mum Patricia, 55, also of Masefield Drive, said: "I just can't understand it. He was a good father and although I knew there was something wrong and that he was depressed, I never thought anything like this would happen."
She said he was separated from his girlfriend and the mother of his two children, Kimberley four, and Kayley, seven. She said he was bringing up the children with help from his former girlfriend and herself. The children are now staying with the mother of Mr Wilson's girlfriend.
"We've broken the news to Kayley and she is heartbroken. She can't understand why her daddy is not there."
"He was a lovely lad and I was very proud of him. It's just such a waste."
The day before his body was found Mr Wilson took his children to school and nursery as usual. At lunchtime, he was talking to two friends at his house and then walked out. He gave no indication where he was going.
Mrs Wilson said: "That was the last time anyone saw him. I had the children that night and begun to panic. He had never gone missing before and I feared the worst."
