LAST night, about half past eight, a married woman, about 46 years of age, was suddenly attacked, and most indecently maltreated on the Belmont-road, between the Broad o'th Lane Bar and the Corporation Reservoir. The woman's screams caused the scoundrel to decamp, but she lost her parcel in the affray in her fear and hurry to escape. We learn the above from the most reliable authority, and as this road is very badly lighted, it is hoped the police will keep a vigilant eye upon it, this not being the first time that females have suffered from fellows apparently similarly disposed. If anyone will communicate the name of the person who committed the outrage to Mr Inspector Holland, at the Town Hall, Little Bolton, a reward will be given on conviction of the offender.
