AIDAN Davison could be sent back from his loan stint at Ipswich next week to allow the Suffolk club to sign Spurs defender Jason Cundy.

Portman Road boss George Burley would like to keep the Wanderers man as cover for highly-rated youngster Richard Wright, who has a dodgy back. But he desperately wants to take Cundy on loan and, having just borrowed Manchester City striker Gerry Creaney, something has to give.

League rules dictate that clubs can only have two players on loan at any given time, although Burley thought goalkeepers didn't count against the quota when he tried to get Cundy on board this week.
