Bradford Park Avenue 0, Leigh RMI 3 A FIRST half hat-trick from Chris Shaw got Leigh RMI's promotion hopes back on track after three successive defeats.
Shaw ensured the Railwaymen took maximum points with his three strikes coming in just 15 minutes and taking his season's tally into double figures.
The first came in the 10th minute when a long clearance from goalkeeper Dave Felgate was flicked on by Keith Evans and Shaw finished the move.
Dave Ridings was the middle man in the second in the 20th minute before Paul Wheeler set Shaw free five minutes later to complete his hat-trick.
"It was clinical finishing from 'Shorty', but the whole side responded well after those three cup set backs," said manager Steve Waywell.
"Mark Schofield's return was a boost and Mick Charlton took to the sweeper role as though he has been doing it all his life.
"We also asked Shaw and Evans to play closer together and that seemed to pay off, but the victory has to be put down to an all-round team effort".
Although Schofield returned at Bradford, Waywell was down to the bare bones, so much so, that injured pair Mike Wallace and Tony Edwards were needed on the bench.
Tom McKenna will return against Ashton United tonight at Hilton Park and there could be a debut for former Crewe defender Danny Collier.
"If Schofield suffers a reaction from Saturday, Collier will come straight into the side, otherwise he will be on the bench", added Waywell.
