WIGAN directors will try to persuade the club's shareholders to support the controversial proposal to leave Central Park at tomorrow's annual meeting.The council have invited Wigan to share a new 20,000 capacity all seater stadium with Wigan Athletic. The club have debts of around £2million which would be wiped out if their famous stadium was sold to a supermarket chain keen to exploit the centrally located site.
Wigan meanwhile are determined to hold on to blockbusting centre Va'aiga Tuigamala who is wanted by Wasps where he is guesting during the winter.
Great Britain skipper Andy Farrell returned from the disastrous tour to New Zealand yesterday saying that RL must get its act together or risk losing more players to union.
Farrell, who turned down a huge deal from Bath to tour as GB skipper, picked up just £5,000, the same amount as his Wigan colleagues are earning for each game they play in union.
