TRIVIA mad Martin Hutchinson is passing on his musical knowledge by compiling cover notes for a new series of CDs.
Martin, from Sharples, was invited by EMI records to write the cover notes for four compilations.
He says he was delighted because among the artists featured on the CDs and cassettes was one of his favourites - Roy Wood formerly of Wizard.
"That was the ultimate for me. He is one of my all time favourites. I thought it was down hill from there!" he joked.
Martin, who became involved in writing as a hobby about 20 years ago, has also devised questions for such TV shows as "Talking Telephone Numbers" and "Wheel of Fortune".
Earlier this year he was approached by the BBC to check questions for a one-off quiz dedicated to Star Trek.
"Compiling questions and writing CD liners is an interesting hobby - and a great way to use my trivia knowledge," he said.
The CDs and cassettes Martin has worked on for EMI are exclusive to Boots and include Roy Wood, Gerry and the Pacemakers, rock and roll classics and party hits.
They will be out in time for Christmas.
