Wanderers Youth 2, Lincoln City Youth 0 TWO first half goals saw Wanderers youth team go through to the first round proper of the FA Youth Cup at Burnden last night.
Marco Minchella, who missed the first game at Lincoln through injury, served notice of Bolton's intentions after only eight minutes when his first time volley from 30 yards was only just scrambled away.
Wanderers never looked back and it was Minchella who set up the opener after 17 minutes when his right wing cross was volleyed into the net from close range by Lee Potter.
Three minutes later Potter was on hand to clear off his own line in a rare Lincoln attack and within seconds Wanderers went two up.
Noel Corrigan made an enterprising run down the right and his low shot was too powerful for the City keeper.
Bolton had opportunities to increase their winning margin after the interval notably when Gareth Feeney hit the bar and Potter had a goal ruled out for a narrow offside decision.
Derby County will be the visitors to Burnden in the first round on a date to be arranged.
Wanderers youth: McGing, Haley, Pryers, Hallatt, Macleod, Holden, Corrigan, Doherty, Potter, Minchella (Trueman), Feeney.
