BURY chairman Terry Robinson today expressed his "delight" at the £125,000 fee set on goalkeeper Dean Kiely from York City.

A transfer tribunal fixed the price, plus 20 per cent of any on-going transfer when the Manchester hearing was completed at the third time of asking yesterday.

Mr Robinson said: "It's a little on the top side of what we thought we would have to pay.

"They wanted £350,000 rising to £500,000 depending on appearances so we are delighted that the fee set was not out of this world."

York, who visit Gigg Lane in the Second Division on Saturday, reacted to the decision with disappointment.

Manager Alan Little moaned: "We had a figure which everybody knows and when you come to a situation like this when you don't get the value you feel a player is worth it is disappointing."

Meanwhile, Bury are working on getting a host of senior stars fit for the clash with their Yorkshire rivals.

Striker Ronnie Jepson and midfielders Lenny Johnrose and Gordon Armstrong will all come into contention if they can shake off injuries which have sidelined the trio in recent matches.
