THE BOLTON SUNDAY LEAGUE game of the day took place at Deane Base where the First Division's top two teams Willows and Astley Bridge locked horns.

Both teams were defending hundred per cent records and it was Willows who retained theirs with a narrow 4-3 win thanks to two goals from Chris Cairney and one each from Chris Barlow and Mick Philbin.

Westleigh Mechanics climbed into third spot after an excellent 6-1 victory over Gresham. John Frane was the Westleigh hero with five goals.

Goals from Joe Rile, Andy Dean and Kieron Hogg who scored with a 30-yard free kick helped Derby Street Glass to a 3-3 draw with Electrolux while Robin Hood improved their position with a 4-2 win over Cattle Market.

In the Premier Division, Little Lever consolidated their position at the top with a comfortable 6-1 win over Lostock Arms in which Partington scored a hat-trick.

The division's derby match of the day at Howe Bridge went the way of Bulls Head who beat Manchester Road Inn 2-0. Both Red Lion and Tonge Fold remain unbeaten after drawing 0-0 while Feathers crashed to their second defeat in a row losing 2-1 to fast improving Fuller Vale.

In the Second Division Monteraze hit the top after their 6-1 rout of Little Hulton Cricket Club. Andy Wilson, Martin Magnall and Mark Pritchard all scored two for the new leaders with Andy Sutherland replying for Little Hulton.

Neil Blower hit a hat-trick for White Horse (Kearsley) who beat Brightmill Chemicals 5-0.

In the Third Division, Arkwrights maintained their hundred per cent record with a 5-1 win over Coach and Horses, Gary Bradshaw notching a hat-trick and the evergreen John Taylor scoring the other two for Arkwrights.

Aerospace also have a hundred per cent record after slamming Toby Inn 8-0 while Allboro hammered Athletic Atherton 8-1 with Gary Mather scoring three and Kirk Davies and David Walsh two.
