NIGHT-CLUBBERS in Bolton will soon be able to party until dawn after a town centre bar was given permission to stay open until 5am.

Wiseguys on Manor Street has been granted the ground-breaking licence by Bolton Council. And now manager John Disley is confident Bolton can move towards becoming a 24-hour venue.

Customers will be able to keep partying until 5am each Saturday and Sunday when the scheme is launched before the end of the year.

But the drinks will be strictly non-alcoholic after 1am.

John said: "Lots of people don't want to head straight home when the clubs shut. They want to cool down and have a drink. But they've no choice at the moment in Bolton. "Manchester has at least half a dozen places that stay open until five. Now Bolton has one and it can only add to the town's growing regional reputation for nightlife."

The late night refreshment house licence allows Wiseguys to serve a range of hot drinks and soft drinks together with snacks for those revellers who want to get tucked into an early breakfast.

John added: "I think this is an excellent forward thinking decision by the authorities showing a commitment to developing Bolton's image and really putting us on the map."
