BOSSES at Radio Bolton have issued an open invitation to members to review the company accounts at the next meeting at the end of this month.
As reported in the Bolton Evening News last night, some members are concerned about two amounts of £6,000 in the company accounts for 1995.
They claim that the figures have not been accounted for in enough detail.
But Radio Bolton Chairman Simon Young said that the 1995 accounts had been presented at last year's annual general meeting, where the accounts had been debated and approved by the members.
He said: "I was unaware that some members were concerned about the figures.
"Members are clamouring for answers, but the answers have been here all the time. They will be able to see accounts dating back to the formation of the company at the regular meeting on November 27.
"I was not aware that the two amounts were an issue until very recently.
"We have nothing to hide and the amounts are broken down in much more detail in the accounts.
"Our Financial Director, Des Nogalski, will go through the figures with them."
Mr Young said that he was concerned about apathy in the membership, but said that more members are in support of the management than against it.
He added: "We have experienced an extremely steep learning curve in getting to know the ins and outs of the radio business.
"We are looking at restructuring the company in a way which will allow us to attract investment and raise cash for the full time bid.
"There are proposals to set up a subsidiary company, wholly owned by Radio Bolton.
"The subsidiary company will issue shares and allow Radio Bolton to attract investors and offer a return to them."
The meeting will take place at the Radio Bolton studios at the Royal House, on Tennyson Street, on Wednesday, November 27, at 7.30pm.
