JOINT leaders in the Bolton Combination Premier Division, British Aerospace came unstuck last weekend in a 6-1 home trouncing by Hindley Green and only stayed level on 21 points with Seedfield Sports Club as the Bury outfit was in Lancashire ADIDAS Amateur Shield action.
The Lostock side has now played a massive four games more than the Seedfield team that can proudly boast a 100 per cent return from seven league games played.
Aerospace face a tough away trip to an unpredictable Ambassadors side tomorrow while Seedfield, the only Combination club to have made it into the third round of the Shield, gave the relatively comfortable-looking home encounter with third from bottom Walkden AFC.
Third-placed, and still unbeaten, Walkers will have to be on their toes to maintain their unblemished record in the home game against Atherton C&N. Fast improving Hindley Green are away at a promoted Blackrod Town outfit that has yet to pick up a single point in the Prem after nine games. Hindsford beaten only once travel to Bolton Lads Club.
First Division leaders Mitchell Shackleton entertain a Tyldesley United side that appears to have been deserted by Lady Luck this season. The Combination Match of the Day tomorrow is the First Division meeting between Hindley Green Reserves and Adlington Athletic. The Hindley second-stringers can still boast an unbeaten campaign with five draws and three wins in the eight played but that will be undoubtedly tested to the full with the visit of second placed Adlington, who have a game in hand on the leaders and are just three points adrift. Third placed Little Lever face a tough away trip to fifth in the table Turton.
In Division Two, seven wins in seven games, Atherton S&S face their toughest league test thus far with the trip to second-placed Walkden AFC Reserves.
