BOLTON'S war dead will be remembered tomorrow in a special parade with sailors from the town's adopted ship, HMS Beaver.
They will be joined by ex-soldiers and sailors from the Second World War who will be marching on the Town Hall Square for a commemorative parade before a Remembrance Service at 11am.
The Hoover Bolton Band, playing a number of military marches, will begin the morning agenda at 10.40am. The Mayor of Bolton, Cllr Eric Johnson, and civic leaders will later file down the town hall steps for an open air service before the two minute silence.
During the service, the Mayor will lay the first wreath on behalf of the town followed by wreaths from the Royal Navy and Army.
Representatives from many other organisations across Bolton will also be taking part.
The Vicar of Bolton, Rev Canon Alan Wolstencroft, will be taking the service.
The Mayor said: "I'm delighted HMS Beaver are able to be with us for this year's Remembrance Service and march past. "Tomorrow is a very important day and attending the service on the square gives us all a chance to remember those who gave their lives for us."
Crew members from HMS Beaver will be travelling from Scotland to join the service.
Cllr Johnson added: "Beaver is often out at sea in November but this year the ship is docked in Scotland and I'm very pleased Sub Lt Wildin and some of the crew will be travelling down to join us."
