AN old soldier from Bolton is making one last bid to sell his collection of old photographs and keep them in the public domain.
Colonel C George Robinson, 78, from Tonge, has a huge collection of prints, some of them showing scenes of Lancashire more than 100 years ago.
Ideally he would like a public body - Bolton Council or Lancashire County Council - to buy them en masse and display them in a museum.
Former Desert Rat Col Robinson says he will also consider selling them privately or auction them individually as a last resort. But he wants the pictures to be available to everyone and is hoping that a public body will come forward.
He says he is looking for £3,000 or more but will listen to "decent" offers.
