TWO pedestrians were seriously injured in Leigh yesterday.
Steven Webster, 29, and Valerie Roberts, 27, both of Rossall Crescent, Leigh, were crossing Chapel Street when they were in an accident with a Vauxhall Astra driven by Norman Revell, 68, of Thirlmere Street, Leigh.
Miss Roberts was detained at Wigan Infirmary with a double fracture to her leg and a fractured knee. Her condition is described as 'poorly'.
Mr Webster is in a critical condition at North Manchester Infirmary's neuro-surgical unit.
Police have appealed for witnesses, including the driver of a black Vauxhall Nova, to ring 0161 872 5050.
