BOLTON College lecturer Vic Williams has gained an MSc in Manufacturing: Management and Technology after five years' study.
He studied for the qualification with the Open University in his own time.
Mr Williams said: "The research I have done should also benefit our students as I can integrate the project I was doing into the HNC in Mechanical Manufacture, for which I am the course manager.
"This has the benefit of providing a coherent structure to the course and keeping it up to date with what is happening in industry.
Mr Williams, who hopes to continue his education management studies, was one of 30 college staff who recently completed the Manchester Metropolitan University's Certificate in Education Management course.
