TEMPORARY worker Brian Grogan has won a local title with the Kelly Industrial branch in Churchgate, Bolton.
Mr Grogan, aged 55, from Tyldesley, beat several hundred rivals for the Kelly Industrial Temporary of the Year Award for 1996.
But by the time he was presented with his winner's certificate he was no longer temporary.
He recently started a permanent job at the Elton Cop Dyeing Company in Bury.
Kelly manager Michael Fearn said Mr Grogan, who started work with them in November 1995, had been the perfect temporary - he never turned work down and did every job really well.
"He is a very reliable and conscientious warehousing worker who consistently receives excellent appraisals," said Mr Fearn.
Mr Grogan said: "I have enjoyed the challenge of temping because it is always a good feeling to be asked back by companies and it is just very nice that people have noticed the effort I put in."
