A CAFE bar is set to open in historic Wood Street in Bolton town centre.
Council planning chiefs have given the go-ahead for the change of use of grade two listed building Aspen House.
Some councillors on the planning control sub committee were worried that it could spoil the character of Wood Street.
Tory leader Cllr Norman Critchley said: "We have spent a lot of money improving Wood Street.
"It does worry me that there will be delivery lorries going along there all the time."
But Labour Cllr Mrs Pauline Spencer said: "No matter what use you allow for this building, there will be deliveries."
