SIR: Once again there is much publicity regarding the life sentences of Myra Hindley and Ian Brady; isn't it about time that life means life for ALL who are given life sentences?
It makes no sense at all that a life sentence is imposed, then the judge recommends that 10 or 15 years should be served!
A good example of this happening is of the 'drug-crazed gunman' from Bolton being given four life sentences - one for each armed robbery (one of his victims being my daughter) and it was recommended that he serves eight years. It is beyond comprehension.
Now that the Moors murderers have been told that life means life, it has to follow surely, that this means for all life sentences.
The difficult thing is accepting that I have to help to pay for the upkeep of these despicable beings.
