THIEVES made off with a bicycle worth £375 after a smash and grab raid on a shop in Horwich town centre last night.
The Giant X1500 Hybrid, a cross between a mountain and a road bike, was stolen from the Green Machine Bike Shop in Lee Lane shortly after 8pm.
The thieves ripped off the metal window grill and smashed the glass by throwing a wheelie bin through it.
John Spencer, one of the shop owners, said the distinctive aluminium bike was light blue merging into silver. The damage to the window is estimated at £500. It is believed two youths were involved. Anyone with information should contact Horwich police.
