MR Heath's nerve is unbroken by the narrowness of his dramatic Common Market victory in Parliament. He will carry on with legislation to take Britain into Europe. The Bill was given its second reading last night by only eight votes. A total of 309 Tories and Liberals voted for the Bill: 301 voted against it.

CHILDREN on holiday this week have had a hard choice to make, seemingly. As cinemas don't open until 4pm, attendance at the first show has meant missing 'Dick Barton' at 6.45pm, and on the bus last night a group of children who had put Abbott and Costello before the 'special agent' were harsh in their criticism of the authority which had compelled them to this decision.
