IT'S good news that the North West Film Commission aims to put Bolton and the rest of the region on the map when it comes to film production and location sites.
Bolton has been spotted before as a place where film-makers and television producers can find suitable sites for a number of productions.
The town will shortly be featured in the Wartime Wanderers film which should put the spotlight on such places again. Lord Attenborough has said that the region has provided some "splendid locations". When the chief executive of the North West Film Commission is appointed, he should be invited to Bolton to see that many such locations are situated here.
As well as raising Bolton's profile and possibly creating some jobs, the spin-off for local shops, restaurants and hotels could be considerable.
