ATHERTON LR's Unibond future could be decided tomorrow when they travel to fellow relegation strugglers Gretna.
A victory for third from bottom LR would give them a 10 point cushion over Gretna, who along with Warrington, occupy the two relegation places.
But Atherton, who have played four games more than Gretna, and lost to Flixton at home last Saturday, have selection problems for the long trip.
Four players, Tony Pemberton, Kenny Quigg, Simon O'Brien and Steve Hiley are all suspended and manager Dave Morris will have a new central defensive partnership on display.
"Young Gary Cowburn came in against Flixton and although we conceded three goals he did well and will keep his spot," said Morris.
"Mick Southern is the likely candidate for the other central defensive role in a game that is very important for our club.
"We have to make sure we don't get beaten and allow them to make up ground on us, but it will be difficult for us because in all honesty we haven't been playing well and that's why we find ourselves in the position we are," added Morris.
