SIR: I couldn't let T R Miles' letter regarding the Queen Tribute group, Magic, go by uncontested.
At the beginning of the show, which had no seats empty as far as I could see, the lead singer explained that they were not trying to BE Queen, but were, as advertised, a tribute to that fabulous group. They may not be the real thing, but I'm sure you couldn't get any closer - they were excellent!
This was the second time my daughter and I have been to see Magic at the Albert Hall, and we will be queuing up with all other Queen fans to hear the classic Queen songs performed so professionally the next time they return to Bolton.
If T R Miles had been to Crompton's Mule in Bolton town centre last Wednesday to hear the OTHER Queen tribute band, then I could have understood his decision to walk out. We stayed for three songs, and then, along with several others, "voted with our feet".
