SIR: The Annual Waterloo Cup hare coursing event will be held next week on February 25-27, an event, which I, and many who share my views hope will be one of the last. However, until that day comes, we who oppose this cruel spectacle must make our voices heard. There will be a peaceful demonstration on February 25 starting at 10am at The Causeway on the Formby to Altcar Road, half a mile past Tesco. The demonstration will be non-confrontational.
Those requiring further information should contact the Cheshire Support Group on 01829 781114 or the League Against Cruel Sports 0171 407 0979.
I also urge all interested readers to contact their prospective parliamentary candidates, to ask for their support.
There can be no doubt that the BFSS will be doing everything that it can to persuade those candidates to support hunting.
We therefore need to convince the waverers that bloodsports are cruel, unnecessary and disruptive to the farmer, to the road user and rail traffic.
