FURIOUS residents are calling for a road to be closed after a teenage grief-rider smashed into a house.
As reported in last night's BEN, the 17-year-old brought terror to the streets of Farnworth on Thursday as he was pursued by police.
Now residents want part of Greenland Road, which is used as a rat run, to be closed.
The accident happened only days after a barrier blocking off part of the road was taken down.
It was put up to stop motorists using Greenland Road as a short cut between Green Lane and Plodder Lane. But residents complained that the wrong part of the road had been blocked and motorists were cutting through other residential streets instead.
Mrs Mavis Arcus, of Greenland Road, said: "Something has to be done before somebody is killed.
"If this accident had happened just a few hours earlier when children were coming out of school, I dread to think what would have happened.
"The road needs closing off completely at the southern end near Mount St Joseph School.
"It is a miracle nobody was killed on Thursday night, but it is only a matter of time before somebody is."
