SIR: David Crausby is correct when he states that there has been no industrial action at Beloit Walmsley since 1980 (BEN April 10).
He neglects to say, however, that the reason why Beloit Walmsley and many other firms are thriving is because of the Trade Union legislation introduced by Margaret Thatcher and John Major, which allows managers to manage without the threat of intimidation and bullying.
