SIR: I would like to say how much I was moved by Eileen Smith's article on the lurcher who had his throat cut.
As a volunteer for Lexus Greyhound Rescue I would just like to say how hard Pat Graham works and she often goes into situations to rescue dogs where other people wouldn't. She works all hours God sends, to nurse sick animals into the early hours and never complains.
People come to her for advice and help because she knows all about the breed and is always there after re-homing in case there are any problems. The dogs are all house trained, vaccinated and spayed before being homed.
I personally have adopted three from Pat, and I wouldn't have any other breed now.
I used to think we were a dog-loving country but after picking up the lurcher for her I don't think that any more.
Pat is indeed the Mother Teresa of the Greyhounds and without her love and dedication life would be grim for this gentle breed.
Anyone wishing to foster or adopt one should go along and see just how lovely her dogs are and ring Pat on 01204 668589 for an appointment.
