AFTER Eagley's West Lancs League Division One title hopes had already been dashed by a midweek defeat by Kirkham and Wesham, Saturday's home game against Fenniscowles produced another below par performance in a 3-3 draw.

Having found themselves two goals up through Phil Hutchinson and Dave Morris, they seemed on course for a comfortable victory. But the home side took their foot of the gas and the visitors got back into the game.

Douglas and Taylor with a double strike put Fenniscowles well in charge and it was only the prolific Hutchinson with a late penalty that spared his side's blushes.

Next Saturday Eagley play their last game of the season at home to Leyland hoping to secure the three points that will clinch the Division One runners up slot.

Turton entertain Leyland Motors tonight after going down 5-2 at home on Saturday to Burnley United. Mather and Davies got the goals for Peter Cooper's side.

LITTLE Hulton United's Mike Ayres will miss the end of the season after dislocating his shoulder in the 1-1 Manchester League Premier Division draw at Atherton Town.

The vastly experienced defender was hurt in an innocent collision and was fortunate that Town had first-aider Bernard Neary on hand to apply immediate treatment. Steve Crilly cracked in Town's goal in the first half but, with just eight minutes left, United's man for all seasons, Al Davies, popped up with an equaliser.
