CARNIVAL organisers in Adlington hope to get a big problem sewn up as soon as possible.
They are calling for anyone with a sewing machine to lend them a hand to make up a massive nine miles of bunting for this year's carnival.
Organiser Colin Prescott said the bunting for the carnival route needed to be replaced because existing decorations were looking worse for wear.
Mr Prescott said: "We have the bunting up and down a three mile route in Adlington.
"It's usually up for a month so it stands up to all the elements.
"It's going to be quite a job to replace all the bunting so we need all the help we can get."
All the materials will be provided cut and ready for sewing for those people willing to offer their services.
He added: "We need volunteers with a sewing machine and a lot of patience!
"Anyone willing to help does not need to be a skilful sewing machinist."
If you can help the Adlington Carnival organisers with their mammoth task, contact Mr Prescott on 01257-482043.
This year's Adlington Carnival will take place on August 15, 16 and 17.
